HGC Introduces Education Grant
Since 2009, HGC offers an education grant to a Hudson/St-Lazare student to support studies in horticulture or related subjects in the environmental sciences at a recognized school, CEGEP or University. Education grants are expected to be awarded at our May meeting each year. Click here for further information and the application forms.
Ecologically minded gardeners will appreciate that they can return undamaged pots and Styrofoam® flats to Les Serres Vaudreuil for re-use. Simply place them in the large bins marked for that purpose.
Members who supplied their email addresses when registering in 2007 have now been added to our distribution list. If you were among them, please look out for E-mail from HudsonGardenClubNews. Please add our name to your “safe” list to be sure you receive our latest news.
Reminder
As specified in our by-laws, members whose annual membership fee is unpaid by the May meeting will be dropped from our mailing list.
Miscellaneous
We have done our best to keep our membership database up-to-date. If, however, there is an error in your mailing address (or if your address has changed because of post office box re-routing), please advise us promptly and we will correct it in time for the next mailing.
Gardening is good for your arthritis!
Some doctors are now saying that continuing your favourite activity - at a reasonable pace, of course - is a great way to keep your hands limber. Consider special ergonomics tools, warm up your joints by stretching before starting, drink plenty of water, and break up your time into reasonable periods.
The Best Bloomin' Deal in Town
Your regular annual HGC membership fee is $20 a year. This entitles you to meetings that feature exceptional speakers (and refreshments), discounts at local nurseries and at least two local, multi-garden tours. Out of our fee revenues we also pay for the increasing costs associated with hall rental, set-up, take-down and clean-up; insurance premiums; printing two information mailings a year plus your membership cards; a great no-entrance-fee garden and vegetable show; plus a festive time at the wreath-making and Christmas party!!
